Dr. Stephen Chan graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2007 and has experience in the aquaculture sector for more than 10 years. Dr. Chan has particular interest in the use of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) in the industry, and has obtained a Certificate in Designing Recirculating Aquaculture Systems from Cornell University. His knowledge and skills in the disciplines of veterinary medicine, engineering and technology puts him in a unique position to effectively design, optimise and troubleshoot issues faced in aquaculture systems, especially in RAS, Biofloc and aquaponics systems. Dr. Chan believes in a data-driven approach to aquaculture, and that relevant technologies can be applied in aquaculture systems to gather data for analytics and guide on-farm practices.
Dr. Chan is also currently a Senior Veterinary Consultant in the City University of Hong Kong, Aquaculture Ambulatory Team, that provides extension animal health and veterinary services to fish farms in Hong Kong.
